Open to all in our South Kaipara community, this short course will cover:
• how to set a realistic food budget, meal planning & pantry staples
• eating seasonally and locally
• coupons and loyalty programmes
• food labelling, cheap vs. healthy food choices and waste reduction
• eating out on a budget
Packed with information the course will incorporate practical exercises to get discussion going and reinforce the concepts discussed. Attendees will be encouraged to share their own tips and tricks, so we can learn from each other. “We’re stronger together”.
A resources sheet with a list of useful websites, books, and other resources for food budgeting and cooking on a budget will be made available too. ‘Food Budgeting Pro’ certificates will be handed out to those that attend all four classes.
