Kai Assist is our crisis response programme providing kai to those in our community experiencing food insecurity.
Clients receive either a one off kai pack, 4 kai packs over a month, or our customised Kai Plan.
Our Kai Plan provides 6 months of kai for a whanau: 4 packs at weekly intervals, moving to 1 every fortnight for 2 rotations, 2 every three weeks and finally monthly for 2 months. This enables our team to engage and understand any underlying issues that clients present with.
We work closely with clients to build a trusting relationship as we walk alongside them on their journey towards food security.
Local agencies are an important part of our clients’ success and we partner with them to provide wrap around support if required. For example, budgeting assistance, counselling, health, group sessions, or parental support.
